The Russian cargo spacecraft Progress M50 that has docked with the International Space Station carries DVD’s with classical Russian feature films as requested by the crew. These films had been computer-restored to absolute perfection and released on DVD by Krupnyi Plan Video as part of their Golden Collection series. Optaglio’s MULTIMATRIX® holograms that feature on all Krupnyi Plan’s DVD’s now have the honour of being the first holograms in space. |

| 09.06.2004 | Malta Tax Stamp launched with E-Direct® hologram |

The new Maltese holographic cigarette tax band was officially launched at the Malta Customs Department on 4th of June. This is an example of the Malta Customs Department working to strengthen its control systems. The new stamps are manufactured by Optaglio, supplied through its Maltese representatives and feature a highly secure E-Direct® holographic device with both visual and forensic security. Parliamentary Secretary Tony Abela said the Customs' Department's hard work in this field should be a prototype for other government departments. The new tax band will be shown to the customs departments of other EU countries to encourage them to take the same measures as Malta. |

Optaglio sro reports reaching the resolution of 500,000 dpi (dots per inch) in E-Direct® structure elements on its second newly modified electron beam writer utilising brand new software package. This is one of the impressive results of the extensive program of research and development in the field of OVM technology carried out by the company. This structure resolution uprecedented in the OVM field opens new potential for incorporating microscopic security features and also for creating novel visual devices. |

Optaglio Limited is awarded a prestigious three-year contract to supply 200 million excise stamps for beer to the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. The contract was tendered through a highly representative international tender with participation of such world renowned security printers as Giesecke Devrient, De La Rue and Joh Enschede. The Georgian beer stamp will feature an extremely secure E-Direct® OVM with more than 30 security features. Hi-tech stamp authentication equipment will be supplied to the Ministry as part of the project. |

At Labelexpo Europe 2003 Optaglio launched OVMelody® a holographic tamper-evident label which combines an overt/covert optically variable MULTIMATRIX® holographic image with an audio signature. A covert structure generates a polyphonic melody when scanned by a specially design portable reader. The label is targeted at the high end of the brand protection market. |
